Kim Jong Un calls soldiers killed in battles with Ukrainians "martyrs"

During Friday's ceremony, Kim Jong-un promised a "beautiful life" to the families of "martyrs" who died fighting alongside the Russian army in Russia's war against Ukraine. North Korean soldiers supported the Russian army primarily in the fighting in the Kursk Oblast, where Ukrainians have been conducting an offensive since August 6, 2024.
